About the Artist
Born 1962 in St.Ives, Cornwall, Sarah Clegg
exhibited her first painting aged 12 in Via Margutta, Rome -
one of the world's most prestigious venues. It was clear
even then that she had a natural talent for painting and drawing,
but her artistic gene took Sarah's career in other directions
including music and journalism before painting became a core
focus in her life from the mid '90's.
Entirely
self-taught, Sarah began by painting portraits of children, but soon
turned her attention to horses and dogs. She now has clients
worldwide who recognise her rare skill in capturing the very
essence of an animal on canvas.
With a family
that loves their field sports, inspiration for her paintings
is hardly a problem, yet until as recently as 2005 Sarah Clegg worked only
by commission. She is now an Associate of the Society of Equestrian
artists and in the past few years has exhibited in
London, the North and at most of the larger shows and Game Fairs via
her agent Lindsey Knapp at Victoria Galleries in Cheshire.
